Biography

Isabel Hernandez is a Ph.D. student in Nuclear Engineering at UC Berkeley, working in the Nuclear Data Group.

She joined UCB in Fall 2022 following her graduation from the University of Michigan with a B.S.E in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences and a minor in Computer Science. Her previous work included analyzing correlations in fission products for means of nonproliferation, as well as incorporating machine learning to reconstruct the initial spin distribution of fission fragments. Her internship at LLNL allowed her to explore her current research interest: developing a process to analyze the status of the ENDF/B VIII evaluation for neutron inelastic scattering cross sections.
