Catherine was a PhD student and a member of the nuclear data program at UC Berkeley. She performed data analysis as a member of the 2019 Master of Engineering cohort at UC Berkeley and prior to that for five years in the insurance industry. Catherine graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ in 2013 with a degree in mathematics.
She joined the nuclear engineering department at UC Berkeley in 2018 with an interest in radioisotope production for medical applications. Her research focused on the measurement of reaction cross sections for the production of the medical isotopes 117mSn and 119mTe via proton irradiation on natural antimony. She has also worked with the radiochemistry team at Lawrence Livermore National Lab on quantifying uncertainties in thermal calibration exercises.
