Biography

Dr. Dajie Sun is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and an affiliate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He conducts High-Power Target Systems (HPTS) design for neutron production via thick target deuteron breakup (TTDB) at the Nuclear Data Group. His research interests lie in thermal-hydraulic analysis, data analysis, machine learning, etc. Dr. Sun has significant experience in sensor network optimization using machine learning, thermal hydraulic computation in nuclear engineering, and has published multiple articles on these topics in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Sun received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2021, supervised by Dr. Haruko Wainwright, and received his bachelor degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2010.
