Postdoctoral Scholar
Dr. Biying Liu is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and works in the Nuclear Data Program at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Her work contributes to improving the completeness and reliability of nuclear data through both computational approaches and direct measurements. Her current research focuses on developing physics-informed computational methods for complex physical systems, including machine- learning approaches for predicting β-decay log(ft) values and other nuclear properties.
Before joining Berkeley, Biying received her Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame, conducting much of her doctoral research at the Argonne National Laboratory. Her work focused on high-precision Penning-trap mass measurements of neutron-rich nuclei for r-process studies, and she also contributed to the N=126 Factory through the Notre Dame MR-TOF commissioning and beamline simulations.
